HQ Trivia co-founder Colin Kroll found dead at 35

Dec. 16 (UPI) — CEO and co-founder of HQ Trivia Colin Kroll died at the age of 35, the company announced Sunday.

“We learned today of the passing of our friend and founder, Colin Kroll, and it’s with deep sadness that we say goodbye. Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” the company wrote on Twitter.

Authority’s told New York’s PIX11 network they received a call from a woman at 12:18 a.m. regarding a person in need of medical assistance.

Officers found Kroll dead in his New York City apartment with no obvious signs of trauma while conducting a wellness check.

TMZ reported it is believed Kroll died as the result of an apparent drug overdose, citing unnamed law enforcement sources.

Kroll, who was also the co-founder of the micro-video app Vine, became CEO of HQ Trivia in 2015.

The app, which offered players cash prizes for daily trivia games became available for iOS and Androids in 2017.

It was awarded “App of the year” by Time magazine the same year.
